Anthony Rumble Johnson announced his plan to return to MMA 2019, and now the UFC Light Heavyweight is officially in the USADA testing pool. Re-entering the drug testing pool is a huge step for the former title contender as now Johnson can return to the octagon 6 months after entering the program as long as his results are clean.
Johnson has had a three year layoff since his last fight against Daniel Cormier in April 2017. Rumble has notable victories such as Ryan Bader, Alexander Gustafsson, and Glover Teixeira. Oh, and all those victories were by knockout. Johnson holds a record of 22-6 with 16 by knockout. UFC 187 was suppose to be headlined by Johnson vs Jones, but Jones criminal activities got in the way of that. If Jon Jones is really coming to test the heavyweight division why not set him up with Anthony Johnson? That is the perfect match up for both fighters in my opinion and it leaves Stipe vs Francis untouched. Make it happen, Dana!
