UFC 287 took place in Miami, Florida, last night, and the card did not disappoint at all. Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira faced off for the undisputed middleweight championship.

Raul Rosas Jr. vs Christian Rodriguez

UFC 287 kicks off with the biggest upset of the night. Bantamweight Christian Rodriguez outclasses prospect Raul Rosas Jr. in a three-round fight.

The first round was leaning towards Rosas due to a body triangle that he sunk into after his takedown. But the second and third rounds were all Rodriguez, where he outstruck him 83-2.

Kevin Holland vs Santiago Ponzinibbio

Welterweights Kevin Holland and Santiago Ponzinibbio put on a great fight at UFC 287.

Both fighters showcased their striking abilities throughout the fight. But towards the end of the third, Kevin Holland catches Ponzinibbio with a left hook that shuts the light off for the Argentinian.

After the fight, Holland calls out Jorge Masvidal, who is included in the co-main event of UFC 287.

Rob Font vs Adrian Yanez

The third fight on the card only lasted two minutes and fifty-seven seconds.

Bantamweights Adrian Yanez and Rob Font put on an absolute banger of a fight that lasted less than a whole round. After Yanez missed a combo, Font caught him with a right hook/uppercut that knocked out the bantamweight prospect.

Jorge Masvidal vs Gilbert Burns

The co-main event for UFC 287, which included Masvidal and Burns, ended in a unanimous decision. Gilbert Burns defeated the Miami native in quite a fashion. While the striking was close, Masvidal had no answers for Burns’s takedowns and ground-and-pound.

After the fight, Masvidal announced his retirement from the sport after a long 20 years. Masvidal walks away from the UFC with a record of 35-17, including the one and only BMF belt.

Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira

Israel Adesanya defeats Alex Pereira in the second round by knockout in the main event of UFC 287.  Adesanya has become a two-time UFC middleweight champion of the world.

While the first round was close, Adesanya had the edge over Pereira in the second and hit Pereira with the perfect combo. The record between the two in the UFC is 1-1, so a trilogy fight could play out.

After the fight, both fighters showed the other respect and thanked each other for helping them become better. The two have shared the ring four times already despite having bad blood with one another.
