Boon’s Best NCAA Football Bets: Week 9
We are dialed in today and ready to win all of today’s best bets. Week 9 of college football and it is officially game-day for the in state rivalry of Michigan State @ #4 Michigan. Hopefully you all tailed my picks last week, going 6-2 with just two unbelievable losses holding me back from a perfect card. After last week, we’re finally above .500 on the season, and we’re just heating up.
Compared to other weeks, today’s slate of games is actually pretty boring. There are probably only 4-5 matchups today that really have any sort of meaning or people will actually be interested in watching. If you’re in the state of Michigan, we all are talking about the in state rivalry. Outside of that game for us, Ohio State does travel to Penn State for a ranked BIG Ten matchup.
As always, below is the list of different picks I have. If you want winners, come back here every Saturday morning before you click submit on all of your college football bets. I will dive into all the trends, data, stats, and matchups, so you don’t have to. Here we go. As always, bet responsibly and let’s have a day. Here are my Week 9 best bets:
Overall Record: 34-30-1
Last Week: 6-2
Boon’s Best Bet of Week 9:ย Michigan St. @ #4 Michigan
Bet: OVER 54.5
Did you think I would give out my best bets today and not give you a play in this game? Everyone is scrambling trying to find what side to bet on in this game, but I had to stay clear of that personally. Michigan laying 23 points might seem like the right line with how both of these teams have been playing so far this season. But, I will take the easy way out like most, and remind you that this is a rivalry game. Anything, and I mean anything, can happen in this game. Not taking a side in this game, I just want to see points, and I think we will get a lot of them. Michigan is averaging over 40 PPG and Michigan State is giving up 27 PPG. I think Michigan can put up 40+ points on this Michigan State defense. Give me all the points.

Dog of the Week/Upset: Notre Dame @ #16 Syracuse
Bet: Notre Dame +2.5/+112
I hate the games we have today, and if we are being honest, I struggled finding a dawg for this week. Last week, we had Liberty ML against BYU, which was one of the easiest Dawgs of the year so far. But, this screams like a scary game for Syracuse to me. Coming off of their heartbreaking loss to #5 Clemson on the road, you would think this is a good bounce back game. I am looking at it completely different. Syracuse may still be on last week’s loss, and not come ready to play today. As much as we talk down on Notre Dame, they still have won a few decent games vs. BYU and UNC. Notre Dame will give Syracuse a tough time, and don’t be surprised if they pull off the road win.

Overs Play of The Week:ย #9 Oklahoma State @ #22 Kansas St.
Bet: Over 56
If the instate rivalry game wasn’t today, this might have been my favorite play of the day. At one point the last few years, we all looked at the BIG 12 as a defensive conference. I think this season, they converted back over to a conference that loves to put points on the board. Oklahoma States offense has been electric this season, up against any defense. On the other side, we all have seen what Adrian Martinez and Kansas St. has been able to do on offense as well. Outside of their 10-9 win vs. Iowa St a few weeks ago, Kansas St. has gone over 60 points in 3 of their last 4 games. This might be the most electric game in college football this weekend, and we are hammering the over.
Underย Play of The Week: Florida @ #1 Georgiaย
Bet: Under 56.5
Unders are boring to bet, but this might be the perfect game for it. We all have questioned Georgia a few times already this season against Mizzou and Kent St. but what no one is talking about, is just how good this defense is again. They’re holding teams under 10 PPG right now, and they’re look to make a statement vs. Anthony Richardson. Georgia might score 40+ vs. this Gators team but we will still be safe with the best defense in the country on our side.
BIG TEN Best Bets Play: #2 Ohio State @ #13 Penn State ย
Bet: #13 Penn State +15.5
It might be because I live in this state of Michigan, but I am not fully sold on Ohio St just yet. One home win vs. Iowa might not be as tough as we all thought. But now having to go on the road to play Penn State in one of the toughest places to play in the BIG Ten. We will know what this Ohio State team is really about by 3:00pm today. Penn State over the last few years has given Ohio State a run for their money. They seem to keep this game a two score game every single year, and having the home field on their side today, I love the fact the sports books are giving us two touchdowns.

Final Week 9 Best Bets Bonus Play: #19 Kentucky @ #3 Tennessee
Bet: #19 Kentucky +12
This is a must play game for today’s slate. I struggled to find the right side of it, but I landed on Kentucky +12. I still believe Tennessee is the best team in the country right now, and their offense is firing on all cylinders. But, this Kentucky team does not go away. It seems like every big game Kentucky has been in so far, they have stepped up and won the game or lost by just a field goal. Will Levis is continuing trying to play to prove that he should be a top pick in this upcoming draft. And on the other side of the ball, their defense is holding teams to 16 PPG. Neyland Stadium is going to be rocking tonight, as always, but you are going to see a classic SEC battle.
