Red Wings – Capitals Preview
The Red Wings host Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals as they look to bounce back after a tough loss to Chicago. Detroit will have another test as they play a good Caps’ lineup at home. You can stream the game on DetroitRedWings.com starting at 7:30.
Detroit’s lineup tonight will feature a defensive pair of Simon Edvinsson and Ben Chiarot as they try to contain the high-powered offense of Washington. Fillip Zadina along with Dominik Kubalik both return to the lineup tonight as they look to stay hot and keep the momentum going.

Skater to watch
Simon Edvinsson will be my skater to watch tonight. Simon came off strong in the first period in Wednesday’s game against the Blackhawks as Coach Lalonde stated. Later found the penalty box twice, clearly was experiencing some growing pains. Nonetheless, Simon will certainly learn to see ice time alongside Chariot tonight. I look for him to get more involved offensively and bring more energy to the defensive end.

The Twin Towers
We get a glimpse into what seems to be a future force for the Red Wings. We will get to see both Michael Rasmussen along with Elmer Soderblom in the lineup. Both players coming at 6’6 210+ pounds will certainly create mismatches if they are able to use their size and their skill effectively. Elmer looks to stay hot, coming off an eye-opening performance against Chicago.
