Wings’ Return for Farewell of 2021-22’ Season.
Detroit returns to Little Caesars Arena after a tough 4 game road trip that started in New York meanwhile ended in Florida. Red Wings will look to bounce back against a motivated Pittsburgh team looking to make yet another run in this year’s Stanley Cup Playoffs. Wings dropped their last two home games before going 1-3 on their most recent road trip. I’m optimistic that the young guns will show some fight and send the fans off with something to be proud about in the last home showing for Detroit.

Will Vrana Be Apart of Detroit’s Future?!
Since Jakub Vrana returned from his injury he hasn’t missed a beat, He’s put the whole city on notice and made us realize what we were missing out on in his absence. He is simply a goal scoring machine and walking highlight reel. In his 22 games this season with Detroit he has notched 17 points (12G,5A). Vrana has been a pivotal part of this teams offense since returning and l would like to believe he will be moving forward. This type of talent and goal scoring ability isn’t easy to come by, with all injury issues aside I’m led to believe Jakub is a 30+ goal scorer in today’s NHL. Yzerman’s eye for talent really showed yet again after making the splash to land Vrana in the Anthony Mantha Deal. Especially after his impact on the ice offensively in his sample size showings I refuse to believe that Vrana won’t be extended. I am confident that the front office has seen enough from Vrana for him to be apart of the Wings future and be with the team for years to come.

Keys For Today’s Game
One of Detroit’s biggest rivals Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins roll into town in full playoff mode. As Captain Dylan Larkin is out for the season and top line center minutes being left for the taking. I look for Michael Rasmussen to step up and play a big role in this game. He recently had a hot streak in which he scored 4 goals in 5 games but since has been quiet. I think there is no better place to do it than at home against Pittsburgh. Playing against Centers in Crosby and Evgeni Malkin is not an easy task for any player in this league. Although I do believe Rasmussen being physical and using his body ultimately causing pressure on both ends offensively and defensively will be a must for today’s matchup.
