Last night, the Detroit Pistons took on the Houston Rockets.
The primary battle of the game was between Cade Cunningham and Jalen Green. Cunningham was drafted first overall by the Pistons in the draft. The Rockets selected Green with the second overall pick.

Breakdown between the Rockets and Pistons
The Pistons were on fire at the start of the first quarter. The Pistons went on a 10 to 2 run in the first 5 minutes of the quarter. But, the Rockets began to find their groove towards the last half of the quarter and cut the deficit to 4 at the end of the quarter.
In the second quarter both teams were neck and neck with each other. Until the last two minutes of the quarter, the Rockets went on a 6-0 run. The Rockets led at the half 54-43.
The battle between the stars was tight. Cunningham finished the half with 10 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Green had 9 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the first half.
The Rockets extended their lead up to 19 points with 2:30 left to go in the third quarter. But the Pistons started to heat up in the last 2 minutes and brought the lead down to 12 at the end of the quarter.
The Pistons continued the hot streak at the beginning of the fourth quarter and brought the deficit down to 6. During the final minutes, the Rockets extended their lead. The Pistons ended up losing the game to the Rockets with a final score of 111-91.
Cunningham for the Pistons finished the game with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Saben lee made a big impact for the Pistons defensively and had two steals.
Green for the Rockets had a game high 25 points.
Alperen Sengun was a big boost for the Rockets. Sengun had 21 points, 8 rebounds, and a game-high 4 blocks.
The primary reason for the Pistons loss was due to three-point shooting. The Pistons shot 7-35 (20%) from three.
Stars for the Pistons
My first star for the Pistons was Cade Cunningham. It wasn’t Cunningham’s stat line and performance I was pleased with. It was his communication and leadership that stood out the most.
My second star for the Pistons was Saddiq Bey. Bey had another strong outing during his second game of Summer League. He finished the night with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assist.
My third star for the Pistons was Luka Garza. He has been the most impressive Piston coming out of Summer League. And he is proving to the coaching staff that he can be a valuable asset next season. Garza was aggressive by drawing fouls and scoring down in the paint. He finished the night with 15 points and 3 rebounds.
