Don’t let the title “Remembering Anna Kournikova” fool you. She is alive and well, as far as I know. But we should still take some time to remember this smoke show.

A look back at Anna Kournikova

Anna popped onto the major tennis scene when she was only 14 years old. Since her and I are the same age I don’t feel like a creep saying I had a crush instantly. In 1996 Kournikova won an ITF Title right here in Michigan. The tournament was in Midland, and that is the closest I ever got to meeting her. Regardless, as time went on, her stock just kept rising.

By 2000 she had become more of a pop celebrity than a major tennis player. That’s where we look back to some of her best pics.

Detroit Ties

Anna Kournikova also has some Detroit ties when it comes to her dating. She was together for a long time with former Detroit Red Wings player Sergei Fedorov. Fedorov admitted he married the tennis star, but the two are now divorced. Fedorov, 33, revealed his former marriage to 21-year-old Kournikova in the March 14 issue of The Hockey News. “We were married, albeit brief, and we are now divorced,” Fedorov said
