After relieving Don Brown of his duties as defensive coordinator, reports have surfaced that Michigan is tabbing Baltimore Ravens LB coach Mike Macdonald for the position.
And they didn’t have to look far either, as he is going from one Harbaugh brother (John) to the other (Jim).
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that Macdonald’s plans to accept the position after the NFL playoffs.
Macdonald is currently in his seventh season with the Ravens and third as the linebackers coach. He began his stint there working as the defensive backs coach and a defensive assistant.
Before coming to the NFL, Macdonald worked as a graduate assistant for four years with Georgia.
Macdonald, 32, is also a graduate from Georgia with a degree in finance, and a master’s degree in sports management.
This hire could be a potentially big coup for Michigan.
