Michigan football fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Today, it was announced that Jim Harbaugh will be coming back as the head coach of the University of Michigan. After a virtual interview with the Denver Broncos, and reports about his interest in the Indianapolis Colts position, Harbaugh confirmed he was coming back with University of Michigan President Santa Ono via a phone call.
I just got off the phone with Coach Harbaugh and Jim shared with me the great news that he is going to remain as the Head Coach of the Michigan Wolverines. That is fantastic news that I have communicated to our Athletic Director Warde Manuel. #GoBlue! pic.twitter.com/3LJzsv4zN9

If you recall last season, Harbaugh interviewed for the vacant Minnesota Vikings position. But things fell through with Minnesota and Harbaugh returned to Michigan. He signed a 5-year contract extension and said “the door is closed” on his return to the NFL. During his time as the Wolverines head coach, Michigan has gone 73-25 with a pair of Big Ten championships, but just 1-6 in bowl games.
