Detroit Lions fullback Jason Cabinda used his Tuesday off from football to reward local students from several schools.
Cabinda took select students from four Detroit schools to the movie theater for a private viewing of Black Panther 2. These students were chosen for things like perfect attendance and improved behavior. They were given refillable drinks and popcorn, and were able to pick out their favorite candy before heading into the theater.
The fullback was joined by a few of his teammates. Jamaal Williams, Brock Wright, and Tom Kennedy were all in attendance with the students today. They played a huge part in making this a memorable experience for not only the students, but the staff members as well.
The four talked to each group of students as they came in off of the bus. They congratulated and thanked the students for all their hard work, letting them know their options are limitless if they put in the work. Williams even gave a very he heartful message to the high schoolers, telling them no matter what, always be yourself.
More than just a Movie
After the movie was over, the four athletes passed out Funko POP!s, autographed gloves, and other pieces of memorabilia to the students. They took several selfies, and Jamaal Williams even recorded a TikTok with a few of the high school students that were impressed by his dance moves. Williams, known for his moves, didn’t quite no the dance they were doing, but he still rocked it out.
Jamaal Williams is about to become the king of TikTok.
Williams went and saw Black Panther 2 with local Detroit students and performed a dance with them after.

The students were thrilled from the moment they walked through the doors and high-fived the players. It was clear that all parties involved had an absolute blast.
Cabinda uses these events as motivation to push these students to be the best they can be each and every day. Last week, he even took a group to Dave & Busters as a reward. He never fails to make these students feel seen, heard and loved each and every week, and this week was no different.
