The Hutchinson family has been in the spotlight for many things this year: Aidan getting drafted to the Detroit Lions as the 2nd overall draft pick, and his sister, Aria, getting crowned Miss Michigan.

While the two don’t have the same audience, they’ve now both had the same honor of throwing out the first pitch at a Detroit Tigers game. Aidan’s came shortly after the NFL Draft while Aria’s happened on Wednesday.
Aria posted on her Instagram about the week leading up to the big pitch. Her dad was texting her, telling her to meet him at the baseball field to practice. He sent her a text, “I left a baseball glove with a baseball inside of it.” He followed up, asking if she’s thrown yet.
She shared photos of them practicing. The day of her first pitch, she posted again. She was at the field with her father, practicing before she headed to Comerica Park. The caption on the picture: “my arm is seriously sore.”
Aria posted an Instagram picture after her throw. The caption read, “this pitch was brought to you by Chris Hutchinson, forcing me to practice throwing this week exactly 60 feet and 6 inches from home plate (yes, he measured and drew it out.)”
After practice on Thursday, I asked Aidan who he thought had a better pitch. He admitted it was Aria saying “I cannot play baseball, so I can’t throw a baseball at all, and I think her’s was a little closer to the center.”
The big brother was proud of her, saying, “she did a good job.”
Traded her crown for a baseball cap.
