The Detroit Lions have now claimed their fifth straight loss and sixth on the season after a 31-27 loss to the Miami Dolphins. The team now sits at 1-6 heading into Week 9.
The Lions were off to a great start, scoring on the first five drives of the game, but they couldn’t hold the lead. They came out of the locker room after halftime a completely different team. They didn’t score a single point in the second half, allowing Miami to make a comeback and take the win.
Dan Campbell spoke on the 1-6 record after the game on Sunday.
“My thought is as frustrating as it is, I know how close we are because we are still talking about one play. And the hard thing is to just keep doing your job and staying in the thick of the storm, and the easy thing is to go down below and get under the blanket, eat all the food and whatever. Guys who are going on the deck and just continue to do their part because they know the sun’s coming, those are the guys we’re looking for. So that’s how I choose to think of this. The only way to clean up everything is to go back to work, that’s just – that’s all I know. So, we go back to work because if we don’t, we have no chance of being in any of these games. So let’s get back into it.”

Listen, don’t tell me your team is close when you have the worst record in the league.
Don’t tell me your close when you get outplayed in the second half EVERY SINGLE WEEK.
It’s goddamn insulting to Lions fans.

Lions entered today last in the league giving up over 412 yards a game
They’ll improve on that number after giving up 478 today. pic.twitter.com/xajC9cvk2b— Sean Baligian (@SeanPBali) October 30, 2022

Anyone who still “believes in” Meathead after 4-19-1 is, himself, a Meathead. #Lions https://t.co/9JriROz9JQ

The Lions are just some sick experiment by the NFL to see how much a fanbase will take and still stick with their team.#OnePride pic.twitter.com/2gQLbQlK2j

It’s one thing to lose but the lions literally win 3.5 quarters then lose in last 3 minutes. Like all the time I literally hate being a fan of this team

I like Dan Campbell. His players clearly love him. They play hard for him. At some point, you’ve got to win games. The Lions always seem to find a way to lose, and that has to come back to the coaching. They are getting killed by their opponents’ halftime adjustments.
