The Detroit Lions (3-5) are coming off a bad loss against to the Minnesota Vikings (3-5). Up next for the Detroit Lions is an interesting matchup against one of the NFL’s worst teams, the Washington Football Team (2-6).
A Must-Win for Detroit
A costly loss against the Vikings last week leaves the Detroit Lions in yet another must-win situation if they are to even dream of making the final wild-card spot. Playing the Washington Football Team will be tricky, considering they lost this matchup (without Matthew Stafford) last season. Woodward Sports put out our Mid-Season Report Card for the Lions – feel free to check it out!

If there was ever a game for the Defense to Shine
This matchup really suits the way the Detroit Lions like to play defense. More than likely Alex Smith will be lining up behind center for Washington. In yet another week we should expect the defense to come up with a few takeaways – we’ve yet to see it in happen. Examples being against turnover prone Quarterbacks like Philip Rivers and Kirk Cousins both putting up great numbers against this Lions’ defense.
Prediction: Detroit Lions 24-13 Washington Football Team
