The Detroit Lions look to extend their winning streak to four and keep their playoff hopes alive with a win over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday.
It’s been a funky week with travel on a Thursday and no regular Tuesday off for the players, but they say the irregular week doesn’t change a thing. The team is not only laser-focused on what they need to do, but they are also having a blast doing it.
While the playoff chances are still lingering in the air, Head Coach Dan Campbell says they are just going to keep doing what they do.
“I showed them where we’re at. They know exactly where we’re at in the standings, and that we know what’s in front of us, and we know it all starts with this one. So, it’s very much the same as it’s been. We’ve got a really good opponent. We’ve got to go to their place. The weather’s going to cold. It’ll be a little windy. And this team has an identity, and they’re going to try to bully us, so we have to be able to absorb it and answer back.”
The Lions will be without safety DeShon Elliott as he suffered a shoulder injury in last week’s game verse the New York Jets. He is hoping to be back before the season ends, but they are taking it week by week. With Elliott out, the Lions elevated S Brady Breeze to the active/inactive list from the practice squad.
Kick-off in Carolina is set for 1pm ET.
