The Detroit Lions (2-3) are coming off their dominating win against the awful Jacksonville Jaguars (1-5). Detroit turns their attention to the 1-5 Atlanta Falcons.
Oh how Things have Changed
After blowing a fourth-quarter lead against the Chicago Bears in Week 1, then following it up with a poor result against the Green Bay Packers. The Lions season looked all but over.
Fast-forward to Week 7, Detroit sits at 2-3 with a very friendly run of games. Now this doesn’t take away from the fact that the Lions beat the god-awful Jaguars, while there’s nothing to be over the moon about. This is what good teams should do against bad teams, and if the Lions want to be a good football team, the win against Jacksonville was a step in the right direction.
A win against the Falcons sets the Lions up for a serious push to make the playoffs. Who would’ve thought after all the chaos that this football team would be able to have a positive spin on their rough start.
Vegas likes the Falcons
The Falcons are two and a half point favorites against the Detroit Lions this Sunday. With the Over/Under being at 56. We aren’t sure how the Detroit secondary will handle the Falcons stellar receiving core, but we do know that it’ll be a tough matchup. Expect Russell Gage to benefit the most this Sunday from the attention Ridley, Jones and Hurst will garner.
Overall, this game could go either way. The Lions have more to lose heading into this matchup. Win, and they sit at 3-3 with a friendly schedule. Lose, and their chances of making the playoffs fall below 5%. Either way, we’ll have tons to talk about on Monday. I’m taking the Lions with the spread and taking the under(56).
