One of the best efforts by an NFL right tackle was overshadowed during the controversial Detroit Lions loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboy’s linebacker Micah Parsons caused havoc for much of the game, at times busting up the Lions running attack and putting pressure on quarterback Jared Goff. He was a one-man wrecking crew until he lined up against Lions right tackle Penei Sewell.
We know Sewell is powerful, but he also needed speed and quickness to stay a step ahead of the super talented Parsons. Parsons dipped and ducked.
He bull-rushed and became a speed demon. However, he could not get past Sewell who stood his ground and shut Parsons down.
If you are a geek who loves great offensive line work, then it has become a thing of beauty.

Sewell became a ballerina on grass. He also showed the NFL why he belonged on the league’s All-Pro team.
Why would the Lions pick Sewell seventh in the 2021 NFL Draft ahead of Parsons who was selected 12th by the Dallas Cowboys? Now we see why. Lions
GM Brad Holmes not only selects quality players but he also builds units.
He figured that a good Lions offensive line would turn great with Sewell in the lineup.
Sewell is not the only Lion to receive praise.
Five Lion players were selected, the most since 1999 when five Lions were selected.
Center Frank Ragnow, rookie tight end Sam LaPorta, defensive end Aiden Hutchinson and special teams specialist Jalen Reeves-Maybin were also selected.
