Turnovers are the biggest reasons to scream about the Lions” – Terry Foster
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH JARED GOFF?
ARE THE LIONS GOING TO OVER PAY TO KEEP THIS MAN?
HOW CLOSE IS HENDON HOOKER?
WHAT IS UP WITH THAT ANEMIC PASS RUSH?
SHOULD DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR AARON GLENN BE FIRED?
THERE WAS A SIDE LINE EXPLOSION ON THE FIELD A FEW WEEKS AGO. IS TEAM CHEMISTRY IN DECLINE?
IS SAME OLD LIONS COMING BACK TO HAUNT THIS TEAM?
WHY DIDN’T THE LIONS SIGN FREE AGENT NDAMUKONG SUH WHEN HE SHOWED AN INTEREST IN RETURNING?
WHY DIDN’T BRAD HOLMES TRADE FOR PASS RUSHERS MONTEZ SWEAT OR CHASE YOUNG?
There is going to be plenty to scream about after the Lions dropped to 9-4 after Sunday’s 28-13 loss to the Chicago Bears.
Every loss seems to bring back Panic in Detroit.
We can scream until we are all Honolulu blue and silver in the face. But here is the bottom line about the Lions. No matter how good or bad the offensive line looks. No matter where you stand on the Jared Goff debate.
Here is the bottom line. The Lions win when they hang onto the ball. They lose when they turn it over.
The Lions have a plus 5 turnover margin in the nine games they’ve won. They have a minus 9 turnover margin in the four games they have lost.
Against the Bears Goff lost a fumbled snap and threw two picks for three turnovers. That amounted to three turnovers and a minus three turnover margin. The Goff goofs area also going to bring a lot of scrutiny down on him in a town where it believes the backup is always the best option.
I know that everybody’s trying to grab straws like what are we? What is this?” Lions coach Dan Campbell said. “I’m not worried. I know exactly what we are. We’re a team that’ll fight and we’ve got to do things right, cause any little mistake, man, it throws us off now. That’s just the type of team we are. But we got plenty here. We got plenty, and when we do things right, we’re pretty damn good. So we’ll get it cleaned up, man. We’ll move on.”
The Campbell quote makes me sizzle a bit. Is anybody else tired of him saying there are things to clean up. The season is three months old. If you include training camp the Lions have had six months to clean up their messes.
My guess is these mistakes will never get cleaned up.
