Aaron Rodgers just announced he wants to play for the New York Jets this upcoming season. The asking price has been rumored to be Two First Round Picks. Similar to the Matthew Stafford deal.
With Rodgers exit the could potentially leave a spot for Matthew Stafford on the Packers.
The #Packers and #Jets continue to negotiate on an Aaron Rodgers trade but have not yet agreed to trade terms, per sources.
Green Bay isn’t looking for multiple first-round picks like other QBs (Russell Wilson, Matthew Stafford) have commanded in recent years. Talks ongoing. pic.twitter.com/W1SZlx0UZA

We don’t really know what Jordan Love is at this point in his career. He has never really gotten consistent playing time since being drafted in the first round by Green Bay.
The Packers will have the assets to make a run at the former Lions QB. A declining Matthew Stafford would probably require less than what LA gave up for him. They know this and could see value in just One First Rounder with other compensation. Perhaps a 2nd or 3rd would make them bite.
Like it or not, Matthew Stafford would make the Green Bay Packers a legit foe in the NFC North. He is a talented QB and still dangerous when healthy.
I have never been Stafford’s #1 fan. I’ve always said “He is the best QB the Lions have every had, but the bar was pretty low.”
He was fantastic in the community and did many great things but could never get the Lions over the hump, goin 0-3 in his playoff opportunities.
If this move does happen, I better not see any of the Detroit Rams crew turn into the Detroit Packers crew.
But be on the look out. If i were the Packers GM I’d at least be making the call today to see what the Rams want for the “gunslinger”.
