Detroit Pistons Dynamic Duo
Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren being selected to the Rising Stars game is good news amidst a season that has not gone as planned. However, Ivey and Duren have surpassed preseason expectations.

Jaden Ivey
Jaden Ivey has responded well to any situation or position he’s been placed. Whether that’s at shooting guard, or more recently at point guard. He’s shown a the ability to be a plus playmaker and more than a complimentary sidekick next to Cade Cunningham. But rather a Superman to Cade Cunningham’s Batman, or Cade Crusader as we call him around these parts. His averages have impressively held consistent at 15.1 points, 4.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds through 48 games this season. Did you have Jaden Ivey down as a 15/5/5 player to on draft night?
Jalen Duren
Jalen Duren started off draft night pondering if he’d spend time in the NBA’s G-League to figure out the league a bit or get his feet wet. The leagues youngest player had other plans. Once he began to receive playing time, it was clear he would need more. Duren is already proving to be a defensive anchor and a presence opponents think about before driving in the paint. He’s averaging 8.4 points and 8.5 rebounds.
As his opportunities rise so has his production.
Over his last 20 games, Duren’s averaged a double-double with 10.6 points, 10.5 rebounds.
