Brighton Hove and Albion v Manchester United
Brighton & Hove Albion are looking to take advantage of a United side that isn’t in their best form. The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back from an embarrassing home defeat to Crystal Palace. Manchester United will look to avoid losing their opening two top-flight fixtures for the first time since 1992/93. United will be challenged and will struggle at times, but the difference in quality should give United the victory.
Prediction: Brighton 1-2 Manchester United
Crystal Palace v Everton
Crystal Palace have won their opening two top-flight fixtures for the first time in their history and now target their first victory against Everton since September 2014. Carlo Ancelotti’s side will look to continue their hot-start by winning at Selhurst Park. This would be the first time Everton have started a season with three successive wins since 1993/94. Expect a high-scoring game, for us this will be the match of the week for the neutrals.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 2-4 Everton
West Bromwich Albion v Chelsea
West Bromwich Albion will look to avoid opening their campaign with three-consecutive losses. Having lost their last four meetings against Chelsea by a combined 9-0, they’ll have their work cutout for them. Frank Lampard and Chelsea are coming off a dominant 6-0 drubbing of Barnsley with Havertz scoring his first hat-trick for the Blues. They’ll face a West Brom team that will be fighting for a result, expect a very difficult game for the Blues.
Prediction: West Brom 2-2 Chelsea
Burnley v Southampton
Burnley aim to secure their first points of 2020/21 campaign. Burnley will also look to extend their unbeaten run against Southampton to nine matches. Southampton will need Danny Ings to continue his world-class goal-scoring form if they are to put an end to Burnley’s run against them. Southampton have looked very weak defensively. Yes they play “attractive and forward” football, but nobody cares if the team isn’t getting results. Expect Southampton to recover well and dominate the match.
Prediction: Burnley 1-3 Southampton
