Week 1 of the 2020 NFL Season had everything Detroit Lions fans have become accustomed to. Signs of growth and potential that maybe, just maybe this team was finally ready to take a big step forward. With 3 quarters in the books, it looked as if Detroit had figured out how to frustrate the Chicago offense. Too bad football is 60 minutes, and the Detroit Lions picked up where they left off in 2019, blowing 7 fourth quarter leads.

The Lions have been nothing short of disappointing, and to be frank no Lion fan will give a shit that Swift dropped the game winning ball, or that Prater missed a 55 yard field goal, or that Stafford forced a bad ball on 3rd down in the fourth which resulted in a pick. There are no “what ifs” in football, the fact is that this was a very winnable game. Detroit showed control for the first 3 quarters, and literally shit the bed in the fourth (again).
We’ll wait and see until the Coaches Film is released later this week so we can get a better idea of just what exactly happened. Another disappointing game by Matt Patricia, and the question has to be asked. Is he the right guy for Detroit? I’ll let the fans give their opinion, but if 9-7 wasn’t good enough, neither is 6-10 and 3-12-1.
