After a reported domestic incident Wednesday night, NBA forward Miles Bridges reportedly turned himself into the Los Angeles Police.

Bridges was released on bail that was set at $130,000. Little information is known but if the allegation and charges are carried through it could have a significant impact on his future in the NBA.

The Charlotte Hornets forward is now a restricted free-agent as of Thursday night. The Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers have been the hot potential landing spots for the 24 year-old. The Flint native seemed like the storybook pairing with the Pistons.

The Pistons have the most cap space in the NBA. The biggest free agent names attached to Detroit were Suns center Deandre Ayton and Bridges. The addition of Memphis’ Jalen Duren in the draft, Ayton was out of the picture. Bridges seemed like Detroits primary target.

Bridges was seeking a max contract from the Hornets and most likely the Pistons. Last year he turned down a $60 million extension with the Hornets. He will likely sign for much less once more is known about his situation.

 Miles Bridges Future

The former Michigan State standout is in a bad predicament. His arrest couldn’t have happened at a worst time in his career thus far.

With the re-signing of Marvin Bagley III, the signing of Kevin Knox and the acquisition of Nerlens Noel and Alec Burks via trade, the cap space for Detroit steadily becomes smaller.

With the team Pistons GM Troy Weaver is building there’s no room for any negative influence or impact on the young players. For the first time in a long time players are expressing their desire to play in and for Detroit. While Bridges expressed the love for his hometown team, his off-the court issues will likely sever the tie with the Pistons.

Even if the price is right for Detroit, expect Pistons GM Troy Weaver to steer clear of Bridges.
